Although he scrupulously avoided the word “default,” Mayor Gregor Robertson said on Thursday that Millennium Development Corp. paid only $192-million of the first payment due on Aug. 31.Yeah... who knew... you let politicians get hold of the purse-strings and bad shit can happen...
Its failure to come up with the other $8-million through some means other than village condo sales – admittedly sluggish for many reasons – is a serious concern.

Montreal Mayor, Jean Drapeau, in building the venue for the 1976 Olympic Games. Montreal's Pie ix and Sherbrooke St E., still has the decrepit and fairly dangerous "Big Owe" stadium.

and in toronto, we see folks reacting to the legacy of david miller... falling all over uber-rightwing rob ford... who, admittedly, is neither the brightest or prettiest belle at the ball.
but he is the anti-david miller and that, for the moment, is simply enough.
