How big a shitbag...

...was Gabriel Wortman?insert alt text here
HALIFAX — The girlfriend of a gunman who carried out a mass shooting in Nova Scotia has renounced any claim on his estate, initially valued at more than $1.2 million.

The woman — whom police have referred to as the gunman’s common law spouse — was named as the sole heir and executor of his estate.

"People of Weight"

I'm looking forward to seeing "People of Sub-Optimal Hygiene" get on the jam-packed protest bus...insert alt text here
Edith Bernier, a Quebec fat rights activist, has launched the petition in the National Assembly to amend the Quebec Charter of Rights and Freedoms “to add discrimination based on appearance,” specifically when it comes to people of weight,
ie. fat people.
And how about those BIG FAT LIES?
"There are certainly plenty of people who insist they eat very little and yet are heavily overweight, but it’s hard not to notice that in regions where people genuinely don’t have enough to eat, none of them are obese."
Oh, it gets better... by which I mean worse...
People who have an adversarial relationship with reality can’t seem to rest until they’ve made everyone as crazy as they are.

Well, boo-freakin'-hoo

Hang on a sec... if I get drunk and roll my car into a ditch... will the federal government spot me a new ride? --

halls of macadamia/Call me crazy... but whatever happened to personal responsibility? More to the point... why should I pay... for your roll in the hay?

Of course, that's not how they see it on Planet Pinko...
"Young women are being forced into a situation where they can’t do anything about their pregnancy."
Hey Peace Moonbeam... here's a thought... you're not responsible enough to use birth control... or good judgement... maybe you shouldn't be doin' the crazy monkey.

Something...

That really needed to be said...
"The great lesson of September 11 was not that the jihadists ever believed that they could kill us all.

Rather, they trusted that enough of the West and indeed enough of us here in America, might at the end of the day, declare that we had it coming."

"In this long war, that belief was — and is — far deadlier even than an unhinged murderer at the controls of an airliner."

Honestly officer...

It was so long ago, it just slipped my mind...
The husband of slain principal Shemina Hirji was convicted in Winnipeg 12 years ago of uttering threats and attempting to kidnap his fiance after she called off the wedding, court documents provided to The Vancouver Sun show.

UPDATE: Shelter from the storm
"When Mr. Charming's true nature starts to show in private, the women are shocked because it seems so out of character for him... In public, abusers are friendly, funny, and even loving. In private they can suddenly become vicious and cruel for no reason."

In light of the fact that we have a fairly permissive society, why are we singling out that particular form of behaviour for criminalization?

Emulating the sexual behaviour...

Of a pack of stray dogs... may not be that helpful either...

But what the heck, let's start lopping bits off everybody...
South African Aids experts have called for a mass circumcision programme after studies showed it reduced the rate of HIV infection by up to 60%.

Some 5.5m South Africans have HIV - second only to India - and one person in nine is infected.

Meanwhile, organisers of the conference have denied reports that they snubbed controversial Health Minister Manto Tshabalala-Msimang.

Dr Tshabalala-Msimang has often told people with HIV to eat garlic, lemons and beetroot, while casting doubt on anti-retroviral drugs.
I'm not so sure I'm gonna be following the good doctor's diet plan...
She has just returned to official duties this week after having a liver transplant.

Merchant of Death

First cough syrup... now toothpaste.

I don't know about you, but from now on, I'm checking labels for country of origin, every time I go shopping...
Diethylene glycol, a poisonous ingredient in some antifreeze, has been found in 6,000 tubes of toothpaste in Panama, and customs officials there said yesterday that the product appeared to have originated in China.

“Our preliminary information is that it came from China, but we don’t know that with certainty yet,” said Daniel Delgado Diamante, Panama’s director of customs. “We are still checking all the possible imports to see if there could be other shipments.”
Hmmm... why does this sound so familiar?
Diethylene glycol is the same poison that the Panamanian government inadvertently mixed into cold medicine last year, killing at least 100 people.

Records show that in that episode the poison, falsely labeled as glycerin, a harmless syrup, also originated in China.

The slings and arrows...

Of statistically anomalous events...
A window cleaner drowned in his bucket of water after suddenly collapsing while he worked, an inquest heard.

Mark Fairhurst, 35, of Wigan, Greater Manchester, was found with his head submerged in water by his customer, Elizabeth Bebe, in June 2006.
