Apparently, in fuzzy-bunny Lib-Land...
...there's no such thing as a bad boy...
-- OTTAWA -- The federal government will announce plans Wednesday to build new cells at six prisons in Kingston and Montreal.Seriously, Mark... locking up criminals is "reckless?"
Liberal public safety critic Mark Holland called the plan reckless.
And besides, says penny-pinching Magic Mark... the cost is totally unacceptable.
Lemme see... 150 million dollars to actually keep violent scumbags off the streets... as opposed to, say... 2 billion taxpayer smackers for the totally ineffectual "Long Gun Registry"... which targets law-abiding farmers, duck hunters and skeet shooters.
Man... I just don't get that socialist math.
And what exactly does the Liberal Party plan to do with violent criminals? Apparently, it's all about hugs and seminars...
He said the government's idea of locking people up without paying for rehabilitation programs will make communities less safe.Yeah... because "fixing" junkies and violent criminals has been working out so well, so far... right, Mark?
Ask yourself... do you really wanna live in "Mr Holland's Neighbourhood?"

If it gave me a chance to cast a vote against this little Liberal puke, abso-frigging-lutley.
Shouldnt prisons be rehabilitation centres? Its not that hard to to do considering the bad guys are actually inside a giant fenced in area. Liberals can sometimes be so mind numbingly stupid. I could fix the prison system in a week but without breaking any human rights code, but, sure as the sun rises the LPC, the NDP and the Bloc would all scream. I'm not sure why the Left doesnt come right out and say it...it does not believe in prisons.

"anon says... Shouldnt prisons be rehabilitation centres?"
well, i think you have to remember you're dealing with people who stash contraband (mostly drugs, ie... stuff they're gonna ingest or inhale) up their rectums.
sorry, mr holland... call me sceptical, but you ain't gonna "dick & jane" your way outta this one.

Neo,you need to do some 'investigative' reporting on how many new jail cells we are gonna need if Judy Wasawashingmachine's motion of April '09 goes through. Those silly Dipper's were wanting a 'Boobie Rgeistry' for implants, with fines of up to $250,000,and/or up to 5 yrs in jail! These same Dippers want a slap on the wrist for the little punks that steal cars, maim or kill people. This coddle-the-crooks mentality is just so offensive.
Check out links to motion in article:

no wonder rob ford is pulling such big numbers in good ol' tranna... people are saying... "enough is enough".

I am all in favour of rehab programs for less-than-life offenders because (and I am selfish here) they will eventually be amongst us again at the end of their time behind bars.
But I don't think this is an either-or thing. Build the damn cells, use them and get the programs in there as well.
The thing I don't want are jails that are so bad the inmates turn batshit insane and when they get on the outside again.... well, not good for us.

"chris says... jails that are so bad"
so let's get this construction done... and avoid third-world conditions in our prisons.
and mark holland can shove his rainbows & candied unicorns nonsense up his ass.

yeah, it worked so fucking great in the US, that we should do it TOO!!!
You guys, are as gullible, as they come. And you demand it too.
Un...believable.
*
"nonny shrieks... we should do it TOO!!!"
ah, nonny... you have an alternative to locking scumbags up?
i'd love to hear that.
*
Let's see... we can let the scumbags roam the streets assaulting our law-abiding citizens.... or lock them up...
I'll go for option "B".
