No real surprise here...

...the last federal Dipper poohbah apparently couldn't tell a legitimate medical clinic from a sleazy Chinatown rub'n'tug...
NDP Leader Andrea Horwath said Tuesday that she’s not sure why federal Immigration Minister Jason Kenney is focused on new regulations that would require Muslim women wearing niqabs and burkas to show their faces to take the citizenship oath.

UPDATE: Once again, the ever-prescient NDP...

...has their pinko fingers on the pulse of the nation...
-- TORONTO -- Canadians overwhelmingly support having Muslim women remove their veils to take the citizenship oath, a poll shows.

Forum Research released figures Thursday showing a whopping 81% of those polled support having women who wear the niqab, or veil, remove it when they swear allegiance during citizenship ceremonies.

“We don’t get a lot of numbers in the 80% range in the polling business,” Forum President Lorne Bozinoff said.

“This is very unusual having people fairly unanimous on an issue like this.”

“And he always went about it in Jack’s own way, which in some ways is a fascinating story.

Thank goodness for the sagacity of online commenters...oh, my achin' headAnd call me cynical... but this postmortem, er... postmortem... smacks, not of journalistic integrity, but one last attempt to squeeze blood out of this one-time fairy tale...
Last week, La Presse columnist Patrick Lagacé didn’t mince words: “Mr. Layton ran for the highest office knowing that the crab was gnawing at his bones. We should have been told. This would have changed the vote of thousands of people, that’s clear."

"And it’s someone who voted for the NDP who’s telling you this.”
Ah, Patrick... yet another less-than-timely intervention by the "professional journalist" community.

And, hey... while we're on immigration... try imagine the field day the mainstream media would have if Stephen Harper had a few illegals in the family tree...
rules are for little people
President Obama’s accused drunken-driving uncle — who was busted after a near collision with a Framingham cop — has had a valid Social Security number for at least 19 years, despite being an illegal immigrant ordered to be deported back to Kenya, the Herald has learned.

Mike Rogers, a spokesman for Cleveland immigration attorney Margaret Wong, who is representing Onyango, said he “wouldn’t know how” Onyango obtained a Social Security number. Wong is the same lawyer who represented the president’s aunt, Zeituni Onyango, in her fight to win asylum last year.

Reached at her apartment in a South Boston public housing complex yesterday, Zeituni Onyango said of her brother’s arrest: “Why don’t you go to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. in Washington, D.C., and ask your president? Not me.” She then hung up on a reporter.
Yup... that'd be the aunt living on social assistance, who recently had her own deportation order overturned.

Rules? We don' need no stinkeen' rules.

Behold your socialist future.

It's past time for a little political triage. I know who I'm voting for this fall.

Meet the brand new Dear Leader...

...of the Official Opposition...
shake his hand, i dare you
My big old Webster’s dictionary, 1966 version, defines smear this way: “To vilify or blacken the reputation by applying a debasing or odious epithet.” There’s nothing in the definition that says the smear must also be untrue.

While it’s presumably possible to wander by mistake into a seedy little joint with a blaring red sign looking for a normal massage, it seems unlikely, especially for a sophisticated urban-dweller like Mr. Layton.

What it says about one of the most trusted political figures in the country is consistent with a thread of hypocrisy which has run through his political life.
Hypocrisy... greed... deceit... oh Christie, say it isn't so.
As self-styled defenders of the oppressed and marginalized, Mr. Layton and Ms. Chow, then earning about $120,000 a year between them, nonetheless for years lived in a government-subsidized three-bedroom co-op apartment where they paid alleged “market” rent of $800 a month.

As the perennial booster of public health care, Mr. Layton nonetheless once had hernia surgery at a private facility north of Toronto.

And as a staunch feminist who, as a councillor, once advocated a ban on touching during lap dancing, he was found naked in a room at the Velvet Touch.
Canada's very own "Slick Willie Clinton"... all that's missing is the cigar.

01 May 2011

You say Toe-may-toe...

...Giorgio says whorehouse...
-- TORONTO -- The Velvet Touch Massage parlour — where NDP Leader Jack Layton was found during a 1996 police visit — was suspected to be a bawdy house since it opened, Toronto Councillor Giorgio Mammoliti alleged.

The massage parlour in the city's Chinatown neighbourhood, which ceased operations down shortly after the police came calling, opened in 1994 and was among 26 suspected bawdy houses Toronto Police cracked down on with more than 300 charges.
And Giorgio, unlike CTV and CBC, isn't buying Jacko's "community clinic" nonsense...
"I can pretty much guarantee wherever there's a rub-and-tug, it's run by organized crime, and drugs are always a part of the equation. That's just a reality of the business."
So... Toronto cops raid a whorehouse looking for underage Thai hookers... and find a naked Toronto City Councillor... and that's the guy you're gonna vote for?

I don't believe it, Canada.

We're better than that.

It's true, nonny... not one Conservative of my acquaintance thinks sexual slavery... or child prostitution... is something to be taken lightly.

RELATED: A funny kind of innocent
Jack Layton says voters will dismiss a report that he was once found in a massage parlour by police in 1996 as a non-issue, because there was “no wrongdoing” in the incident, for which the NDP leader was not arrested or charged.
Is Jacko right, folks? Is that your Prime Minister?

I wouldn't let this guy walk my dog.

LAST WORD: It's just sex... right?

No, sorry... not even close. This kinda thing isn't about some guy "gettin' a little on the side." It's about character. It's about honour. It's about telling the truth and taking responsibility.

Nobody really cares when somebody fucks around, or that somebody got jerked off by prostitute... but, the thing is, you can't have it both ways.

You either care about human rights... care about women... or you rent them by the hour. You can't be a leader or a role model... if you're peddling unadulterated horseshit.

You hear the way people laugh about Berlusconi and Italy these days? I don't want that to happen to my country.

UPDATE: That's some "massage clinic"
The setup at 787 Dundas St. W. impressed the ex-cop.

The guy who ran the place controlled traffic with a red and green light system from the second floor where he could see down a stairway to the street.

"The setup was amazing ... when the police showed up, the manager flicked on the red light switch -- which told the girls to pretend it was a legitimate business -- rubs only -- keep it clean and the green light meant they could perform sexual services," he says.

"Police were cracking down on underage girls from Thailand," a former asian crime unit cop says.

"I have nothing more to say," Duceppe told reporters.

I've gotta see what Lloyd & CTV...

...do with this hot tamale, er... potato...
-- TORONTO -- Jack Layton was found laying naked on a bed by Toronto Police at a suspected Chinatown bawdy house in 1996, a retired Toronto police officer told the Toronto Sun.

The stunning revelation about the current leader of the New Democratic Party comes days before the federal election at a time when his popularity is soaring.

At first the policemen didn't realize they were interviewing one of the best-known Toronto politicians who was married to Chow, also a Metro councillor and now the incumbent NDP MP for Trinity-Spadina.
Hmmm... might be time for a little cap & trade...
The officer's notebook indicates he asked the suspected john: "Did you receive any sexual services?"

He replied: "No sir, I was just getting a shiatsu."

The cop: "Why did you have all your clothes off?"

The suspected john: No answer.

The policemen warned the councillor about the dangers of hanging out in suspected bawdy houses that could be run by Asian triads.

"I remembered lecturing him on a lot of these triads, they'd videotape the customers and extort them afterwards. Jack went pale. I said to him you have to understand it's quite possible," he says.

"He came on a bicycle. I escorted him down and he went away on his bike."

NDP Leader Jack Layton was found in a "massage clinic" when "it was visited" by police in 1996, a report revealed Friday evening, though he was not charged with an offence.

Mr. Layton spoke on the matter to reporters briefly Friday evening. He did not take questions, and went immediately to a rally.
