Weeks before he will reportedly enact a massive executive amnesty for illegal immigrants, President Barack Obama was silent on immigration when he addressed the Congressional Black Caucus' Phoenix Awards Dinner on Saturday evening in Washington, D.C.

Critics of amnesty, like U.S. Civil Rights Commissioner Peter Kirsanow, have warned that granting work permits to millions of more illegal immigrants would have a disparate impact on black workers trying to move up the economic ladder. The black unemployment rate is 11.2%, and a record number of blacks are not even in the workforce.

The man was pronounced dead in hospital becoming the city’s 39th murder victim of the year, he said.

Wage War...divine right of kings
Eight of the 22 airstrikes that began Monday night Washington time were aimed at targets associated with an alleged al-Qaeda cell in Aleppo called the Khorasan group, an organization so obscure that U.S. officials had never even mentioned it by name until a week ago.

By Tuesday, officials across the Obama administration and U.S. military were describing the group as an “imminent threat” to this country.

For $25, a donor received a handwritten thank-you note from Ms. Borg. For $50, she would say a donor’s name in Parliament. A $500 donation bought dinner with the MP. I'm beginning to understand why the NDP is so enthusiastic about legal prostitution.

TORONTO -- A former American military sniper who fired his gun to scare off a stray dog in a rural area of Ontario deserves another trial on charges of careless use of a firearm, the province's top court ruled Friday. In its decision, the Court of Appeal said two lower courts were wrong to convict John Batty on the basis that the simple act of firing his gun was dangerous, and noted their rulings could have serious implications for those who live outside urban areas.

PLAN B

While the CDC does not believe that there are new cases of Ebola in the United States, the assumption in the checklist is that it is only a matter of time before the virus hits home.
The nightmare scenario is that the outbreak may be mutating into an aerially transmissable variant.

Looks like the State Department has decided to protect their own. Might not be a bad time for us common folk to grab some N-95 filter masks and Tyvek suits from the local hardware store...
The huge bulk order of hazmat suits for Ebola has stoked concerns that the U.S. government expects the virus to continue to ravage countries in west Africa and may also be concerned about an outbreak inside the United States.

Toronto Police responded to the bar near Danforth Ave. and Dawes Rd. shortly after 5 p.m. and found the two victims suffering from apparent stab wounds.

It’s believed the pair were attacked by as many as six assailants.

A U.S. security team in Benghazi was held back from immediately responding to the attack on the American diplomatic mission on orders of the top CIA officer there, three of those involved told Fox News’ Bret Baier.

Their account gives a dramatic new turn to what the Obama administration and its allies would like to dismiss as an “old story” – the September 11, 2012 Benghazi attacks that killed U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans.
It didn't make sense then... and it sure doesn't now as more critical info surfaces.

A video has emerged that an Ebola-infected patient has escaped a quarantine zone in Liberian hospital and went to a local crowded market in search of food. He was then pursued by medical staff and returned to hospital.

A local resident told the media that it is the fifth case in which a patient has escaped the quarantine zone.

On August 18, at least 17 suspected Ebola carriers fled the same hospital in Monrovia after a quarantine center was attacked by a rock-throwing crowd. They were then successfully returned to the facility.

It's no big deal... really...

...we can just change that to a Nobel Prize for fiction...
The speech by former US Vice-President Al Gore was apocalyptic. ‘The North Polar ice cap is falling off a cliff,’ he said. ‘It could be completely gone in summer in as little as seven years. Seven years from now.’

Those comments came in 2007 as Mr Gore accepted the Nobel Peace Prize for his campaigning on climate change.

But seven years after his warning, far from vanishing, the Arctic ice cap has expanded for the second year in succession – with a surge, depending on how you measure it, of between 43 and 63 per cent since 2012.
At least you don't have to stay up nights worrying about those poor polar bears anymore.
