Artist and animal rights activist Alice Newstead speared the skin of her shoulderblades with oversized shark fishing hooks, fitting her feet into a harness, to be hoisted up into the air.
She spent 15 minutes suspended in the window of a Lush Cosmetics store in the south of the capital, as passers-by walked along the busy boulevard, her skin stretched upward and streaked with blood.

What astounds me is that people who do this for no "obvious" reason other than because they want to are considered disturbed and mentally problematic people, when people such as this loon in Paris are hailed by some as being heroic or principled.

not too surprising though, considering one of the most popular shows on television today is a tedious karaoke contest for previously obscure nobodies.
there are apparently, very few serious minded people left in north america.
thus... bloody stunts and lots of publicly televised humiliation.
