Considering all the networks carried at least 4 hrs of the service, and now we are into some re-runs. What a case of media hype re attendance. Empty seats at the center, unclaimed tickets being given to the crowd out side. Nowhere near the 700,000 the media said would show up. Police say maybe around 1-2 thousand.
All in all it was a nice service, good music and good tributes. Funny that the person being honored in death is not the same person the media told us about during his life. No video of the last rehearsal, must be a future moneymaking cd. There was a young boy who sang towards the end, about 12 yrs old. He was going to be in the London concerts. I looked at him and thought, pay attention to where you are and why, don't let it happen to you.
It is difficult to believe that the person in all those videos of the rehearsal was 50 yrs old. Like Peter Pan, he will never grow up, or grow old.

as i've said elsewhere...

"just another neurotic, multi-millionaire junkie with a disturbing fondness for small boys, make-believe & cosmetic surgery... who spent the last 20 years of his life trying to transmogrify himself into a younger version of elizabeth taylor."

and nobody seems to want to mention he bought himself 3 children.

freak just doesn't cover it.
