Oh, that poor misunderstood boy!

CTV mourns for a murderer... and his "HEAVY sentence"...
**********

FROM THE COMMENTS: Ask a doctor...

Well I'm not a lawyer, but I worked on the medical side of forensics psychiatry for a while and saw some of Canada's worst criminals.

Every time I hear one of these guys talk about longer sentences not having an effect I have to wonder what kind of background work they are doing on their clients because I would often review the case sheets from many of the patients.

One thing I noticed was that these guys often had numerous convictions, often very violent, going back several years before they finally got referred to forensic psychiatry.

No one has yet been able to convince me that locking these guys up forever after their first or second violent offence wouldn't have prevented the third fourth, fifth, sixth rape/violence offence that they commited.

Of course his bottom feeding lawyer is going to appeal "Because this is outside the normal range" which is of course because of other bottom feeding lawyers.

The Crown believes that girl's life is worth nothing, now it's all about the murderer and how soon he'll be allowed to date again.

Hey come on you people don't you know that criminal defense lawyers are actually doing us all a favour whenever they set some muderering scumbag loose on the street?

They are ensuring that the system works.

Gee thanks SCUMBAGS.

Many of the members of the "Blogging Tories" are lawyers and they have endless opinions on how others ought to vote & act.

However, when some pompous, elitist judge decides to arbitrarily turn a low life loose or some bottom feeder criminal defense lawyer says the most absurd thing imaginable on behalf of some subhuman garbage ... gee these Blogging Tories lawyers are suddenly completely silent.

Yeah, big surprise.

Law school --- for those who are too stupid to study math or science.

Ezra Levant, Damian Penny Adam Daifallah, Mike Brock, Sorry, there are at least two others that I remember are lawyers but I have to look down the list to remember their names.

Don't get defensive Neo. This is not an attack on the tories or your posting.

I am getting as sick of the crap the terribly flawed canadian legal establishment (and MSM) hands out as you are.

I am just publically noting whenever people express outrage about this sort of thing lawyers always seem to run & hide.

When it comes to ALL OTHER aspects of our lives they are right there shoving their greedy noses in.

You will also note that any time you critcize journalists on a blog journalists are nowhere to be found either.

Members of both of these (ugh) "professions" continue to pretend they and their fellows are pure as the driven snow.

Just once it would be nice to see a lawyer stand up & campaign for minimum sentences or harsher penalties or for less plea bargaining.

it would also be nice to see some lawyer (or retired lawyer) speak out on behalf of judicial reform

But you never see THAT either.

defensive? surely you're not saying it's verboten to ask questions?

okay, so we've got four lawyers that are blogging tories. now... these guys all don't do what?

actually... let's start over.

what is your point here?
