Just something to think about, Ontario...

...the next time you're sitting waiting for seven hours in your local hospital emergency room...
row, row, row your boatThe thing I don't get... I heard these destitute folks paid $50,000 apiece to get on that boat.

So why exactly is all this coming out of my taxes?

It would end up costing taxpayers more than $300,000 a month in welfare payments if all 492 Tamil migrants who landed in British Columbia last week settled in Ontario.

In addition to welfare, Tamil refugee claimants will be able to apply for federal benefits that include a Universal Child Care Benefit of $100 a month for each child under 6, according to the federal government. They are also eligible for a federal Child Tax Benefit and the National Child Benefit Supplement so a couple with one child can get $327.66 per month, on top of $1,058 they receive under Ontario’s welfare system.

It will also cost about $22 million for Ontario Legal Aid Plan lawyers to help the migrants with their cases.

Oh yeah... fyi... apparently there are two more boatloads on the way.

Nice; hubby is fighting VA for the benifits he's legally entitled to but won't see or get for another year but illegal aliens get to live on our dime. Perhaps I should put the gimp on a boat and send him out to sea and when he washes ashore in Pictou he can declair refugee status and finally get the benifits he was legally awarded as a Canadian injured VET.

I think I broke a tooth because I find myself grinding my teeth in outrage these days, illegal aliens getting the benifits the VA denies injured service men. Fork there are days I hate this socialists forking nation of bleeding heart liberals.

just wait 'til the two other boatloads get here... it'll triple the cost.

glad to see Harper and crew have addressed the problem!

I'll be looking forward to them ensuring this doesn't happen with the next two boats if they failed on this one.

"another compassionate, intellectual socialist troll says... ensuring this doesn't happen with the next two boats"

sure, nonny... what's your suggestion... air strike, torpedoes... boarding on the high seas?

you misunderstand me. I'm mad about the amount of money spent on them too. I don't know, why you are talking about air strikes. No one mentioned air strikes, or killing anyone. I see you have a gun for an icon. Maybe this is why you thought of this?

I see a lot of people complaining very loudly about the amount of money we're spending, on these refugees, and I genuinely, whole heartedly, agree.

But, what I'm saying is, I don't see a damn thing, being done about it, nor, am I hearing, what, if anything, will be done about it.

Do you?

i heard the prime minister on tv talking about toughening up the law... you think the libs, dippers & blocheads will get behind that?

yeah... me neither.

First place to start is pull the plug for lawyers getting paid zillions of dollars. Set a limit, 1000.00 per year, regardles of number of cases. And absolutely no funds if they manage to appeal for years. Watch those invader chasing lawyers crawl back under a rock.

I'm ok with railing against the opposition parties... but when it comes to benefits for our Veterans, you write as if the "liberals and socialists" are the ones denying benefits.

Who's the government today? Who's denying vets the benefits they deserve today? Who just fired the Veterans' ombudsman?

Hint available here:

Perhaps a "bleeding heart" is called for in this case.

I heard the prime minister also, talking, on tv, and also heard him talking on tv, before, and before that too.

And no I don't expect Iggy, or the bloc to agree on anything either. So, we have a do nothing prime minister, and a cat on a leash for opposition. Is it any wonder why, Canadians cinsistently poll as being completely uninterested in either Harper, or Iggy???

On the subject of vets, I guess this cartoonist sees Harper as a 'bleeding heart liberal' too eh.

Ah yes my Libtard pals, the inability of VA to do it's job is Harper's fault. Harper decriminalized the long form census and you retards screeched and screamed. I can only imagine the MSM and libtard outrage if Harper tried to do something about the bloated bureacracy called VA, it's history is rife with the stench of statism and apathy. As for the Ombudseman, I never thought stripping the Legions of representive powers and appointing an Ombudsman was a good idea. The feds have no intention of providing our vets with the services they need, the apathy towards our vets seems to be the norm regardless of what political party sits in the PM's chair.

The appointment of an Ombudsman stripped the vets of the only real voice they had, now they haven't got the legions to help them and the libs did that not Harper. Oh well maybe this generation of injured vets will do what the WW11 vets did, die quietly accepting that the fought for a nation that cares nothing for them.

always making it, about the, er, "libtards", does a great disservice to our vets. On both sides of the border, both sides of the political spectrum have been guilty of screwing our vets who have put themselves out for our country. This constant, it's Harper! it's the libtards! no you right wing freak! crap has to be curtailed, and the government of the day needs to have it's feet held to the fire. I don't for one second think the liberals aren't guilty of screwing our vets any less than the conservatives. That's what being in government is about, and if Harper and crew, or Iggy etc., ain't up to that kind of thing, then both of them should stand aside and let someone, a real leader step up.

Now, there's a thought.

However, there are many that would rather make this into a soapbox to screech about socialists, or right wing agendas, rather than address the issue. It's just tiring.

that's funny, nonny... i didn't hear you weighing in when i was getting bombarded with a hundred puerile, nonsensical trolls in one afternoon.

I'm not sure exactly what that has to do with the situation with the tamils being handed fistfuls of cash, nor the snubbing of our vets, but what ever floats yer boat I guess.

Neo Conservative said...

ah, yes... yet another incisive observation, nonny.

what exactly does this add to the conversation?

I think I asked *you* that very question sir.

I'm addressing the situation of giving lots of money to outsiders while screwing our vets, and I'm not really sure what you're on about.

What have I added? Well I've observed that neither, the liberals, nor the conservatives have been very quick to truly be there for our vets. This is not only my opinion, but also was the opinion of my grandfather, who served in WW2 and has ranted on more than one occasion at the government of the day, using him and his friends as a way to get votes, and make the other guy look bad, while doing, nothing.

I guess that opinion, doesn't seem to sit well here, because it isn't liberals bad, conservatives good?

What's the end goal here? The vets? Or, pushing the conservatives?

libby, libby, libby... it doesn't matter what the post is about... you just have to show up and scream personal insults, huh?
