CANADA... it's official...

...we're everybody's bitch...

Tamil migrants are making the choice to come to Canada because it is seen as "the easiest mark in the world" for prospective refugees of any background, says Ottawa's former High Commissioner to Sri Lanka.

"We accept about 50 per cent of people who manage to reach our soil and make refugee claims. The average for other countries is around 15 per cent, so your chances of getting accepted in Canada are much greater," Collacott told CTV's Canada AM from Vancouver on Thursday morning.

"And even if you're turned down, the chances are we won't be able to remove you. We remove a few, but we've had people who have been turned down 20 years ago, but are still appealing."
Oh, c'mon now... that's just gotta be bullsh... what the f@ckin' f@ck!!!?
-- BRANTFORD -- A convicted terrorist ordered deported from Canada two decades ago is still living with his family in a modest semi-detached bungalow in Brantford.

FROM THE CTV COMMENTS:
"As a Canadian Citizen, I'm curious what I need to do to be able to apply for Refugee status in Canada?"

"It sure sounds a lot easier than going to College and Working for the rest of my life."
Just something to think about... the next time you're sitting in the local hospital emergency room for seven hours.

I have a copy of the diary of one of my ancestors' migration across the Atlantic in the mid 1800s. Trip took six weeks, and included a hurricane and a diphtheria outbreak which killed three members of the family. Had to put in at New York instead of Montreal, and HAD TO FIND THEIR OWN WAY TO CANADA. Oh, I know, where was the limo?

This after selling everything and not having much left to begin with, all to get to that free land. Free land that had to be cleared by hand in a given time period.

Forgive me if I don't find the current version of the Asylum Shopper's Club very interesting.

"jag says... the current version of the Asylum Shopper's Club"

yup... all you have to do is turn up and say the magic word "refugee" and manna starts to fall from the sky.

just one more thing to think about as you're contemplating being in a 50 percent tax bracket.

Never quite understood how the Canadian Left get their collective ta-tas in the ringer over this, when even the most liberal social democracies in Europe don't take in half the "refugees" we do.

Its the same with health care: every social democracy has more choice than we do, but if we move one tongue depressor's width closer to a market medicine economy, we're just days away from letting granny turn into a mummy because we can't pay the bill.

Sorry, what was I thinking: consistency from the Left?
