Awh, did those businesses and building owners get an "absolute discharge", yes they did - they got absolutely nothing!!!

If he re-offends, nail his hide to the shed. BUT, if he never again commits such a stupid and selfish act, the sentence was correct. That is how the law should treat first offenders - instead of embittering them, set them free with the certain knowledge that they will hang themselves if they re-offend. That and open season on murderers, rapists and child molesters.

TangoJuliette sez:

Dadburnit. I did not know that the Law carried a Mulligan for novice offenders.

Fern: didn't understand your point.

Dollops: you've got to be kidding. What, exactly, is it that you don't understand about 'The Rule of Law?'

sorry, have to disagree. the message being sent here, once again, is that we will tolerate this sort of behaviour.

it's that first piece of litter that seems to give people permission to throw their trash anywhere they want.

throw his ass in jail for 30 days... he'll remember that, i bet.

I agree, first time offenders need a little lee way ,but also need a little jail time to show them what to expect if they re-offend.I would suggest 90 days minimum,6 months maximum for first time offenders.
