The boy is about half the weight of a typical nine-month-old baby and only a few pounds heavier than an average newborn. The two may be travelling in a late 90s model, red, two-door, Acura, police said.

-- TORONTO -- A drunk driver who killed four people and was banned from driving for life managed to get his licence back in an apparent bureaucratic foul-up, the Ontario government said Tuesday.

He had been given a seven-year sentence and a lifetime driving ban in 1999 after pleading guilty to causing a crash while driving drunk in a stolen vehicle. Four people were killed in the crash and two others were injured.

Mr. Scott was released on parole in 2004 and promptly reapplied for, and was granted, a new driving permit.

So... a la Maxime Bernier... will Premier McSlippery's Minister of Transportation, or Minister of Corrections be tendering his resignation?

Six Nations protest spokesperson Brian Skye said the Caledonia blockade, which has slowed traffic in the town, could last a long time.

Six Nations protesters are continuing to block the Highway 6 bypass today after police backed off an attempt to clear the road last night. The road is now barricaded with a downed hydro tower, wires and a telephone pole.

The situation has angered some area residents, who are complaining police treat native and non-natives differently. “If any of us blockaded a road they would come in full force,” said Bill, a Caledonia resident who did not want his last name used.

Brampton, Ont. - Revenge may have been the motive for the beating death of a young Brampton man over the weekend.

The 19-year-old, who was found in the parking lot of a Mississauga strip club on Saturday, had previously been charged with sexually assaulting a female friend last summer.

The Toronto Sun reported the suspect, who's being held on a first-degree murder charge, was the older brother of the woman who was attacked.

Uh, Stoogie... make sure you and Steffi save some of your fuzzy-bunny sympathy for this guy.

France's high-speed TGV rail network has been damaged by a "concerted campaign of sabotage", the SNCF state-owned rail operator has said.

It said acts of sabotage overnight, including fires, caused huge delays to TGV services already hit by a long transport union strike over reforms.

Mr Sarkozy said reforms were overdue and that they were necessary "to confront the challenges set by the world".

First of all, Warner is a really friendly guy, and clearly his resume is second to none. The reason for his removal appears to be in line with his initial statement that it was about “strategic and tactical differences”. Apparently, Warner thought he could actually win Toronto Centre.

Thus Warner's strategy consisted of promising anybody in the riding any old thing they wanted... regardless of the political consequences... and that, obviously, is a non-starter.

If anything, it’s totally dishonest, since it’s promising things you can’t deliver. And if a candidate wants that kind of latitude, there’s an easy way to get it: run as an independent.

You can’t derive the benefit of the party name and freelance at the same time.

This is particularly true in a by-election campaign. Bottom line: since the Tories are going to lose Toronto Centre anyway, why lose twice by having a candidate who’s going to misrepresent the party’s positions on X, Y and Z?

Of course, the fact that Warner was apparently immediately willing to pledge his troth to Bob Rae tells you he was a fair-weather Conservative anyway.

And that should be the end of that.

But that ain't gonna happen. The leftbots are obviously gearing up to give Canadians the "Full Sharpton."
