Gaps in the security screening of Syrian refugees led to dozens being admitted to Canada without proper vetting. As a result, 39 Syrian refugees who should have undergone comprehensive security checks were not screened before arriving in Canada, although they were recorded as having been.

The auditors also found that, in 150 files, part of the screening process did not occur, meaning that “key information may not have been identified or considered” when approving refugees.
That sounds like it could have huge implications, given the terrorism situation worldwide. How could this possibly have... oh...
The report said that to meet Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s election campaign promise to bring in 25,000 Syrian refugees by the end of 2015, changes were made to the screening process.

The screening period was shortened to 96 hours from 30 days, for example.

"I am concerned both with the state of the infrastructure and with the fact that the CBSA was not made aware of these risks or of the report by Shared Services Canada," wrote Canada Border Services Agency President Linda Lizotte-MacPherson.
Mrs Neo listens to CBC radio in the kitchen in the mornings and they were talking about the new CBSA computer system and how it had crashed over 200 times over the last little while.

Don't give me that...

“That’s sacred ceremonial grounds. That’s where our relatives, the grizzly bear, live. And if their habitat is somehow destroyed, you are destroying our relatives,” Perry Bellegarde, national chief of the Assembly of First Nations, said in Ottawa.
Seriously... the grizzly bears? That's your biggest worry?
"The rate of deaths from injuries is 3 to 4 times higher for Aboriginal children than for other children in Canada."

Enough media showboating... time to reorganise priorities, I'd venture.

UPDATE:   Those violent, inebriated "Saskatchewan men"
REGINA - Christopher Pauchay, a Saskatchewan man whose drunken behaviour led to the freezing deaths of his two young daughters, Kaydance, 3, and Santana, 1, has served two-thirds of the nearly three-year sentence and was to be released from prison Tuesday.

The parole board noted Pauchay's long history of substance drug and alcohol abuse as well as a criminal record involving domestic violence.
Is there anything CTV might be glossing over here?

Look, not my business, folks... but you might wanna ask the Hapsburgs about the end product of hundreds of years of inbreeding within a statistically limited gene pool. I will say, there are solid scientific reasons you don't continually marry people you're related to, over hundreds of years. Hell, maybe David Suzuki could explain it better.
It's time to join the 21st century... and I don't just mean swapping the travois for that sweet F150.

Dear Ontario Ministry of Health...

...any word yet on when I'll be getting a family physician?
Ontario’s Emergency Medical Assistance Team is setting up an insulated tent in Moss Park to provide a heated space for supervised drug consumption in the midst of an “overdose crisis.”
Say, I wonder what would happen if a local pub or eatery did this very same thing.

Follow the money

“Wait,” I said. “That victory fund was supposed to be for whoever was the nominee, and the state party races. You’re telling me that Hillary has been controlling it since before she got the nomination?”

Gary said the campaign had to do it or the party would collapse.
Oh... it gets better...
When the Politico story described this arrangement as “essentially … money laundering” for the Clinton campaign, Hillary’s people were outraged at being accused of doing something shady.
She's definitely worthy of the Clinton name.

UPDATE: Sinking Bernie AND Biden?
Did President Barack Obama tell him? Did Biden realize he would be fighting not only Clinton but the entire apparatus of his own party and decide to bag it?

Not a single current or former DNC official or aide, however, came forward with any inkling of the staggering ethical breach for well over two years — and Brazile only spilled the beans then as part of a lucrative book deal.

LAST WORD: More Dem doo-doo...
This further begs the question: “What all did former Attorney General Loretta Lynch send/receive through this alias email from May 4, 2015 through January 20, 2017”. What other information could Lynch have been hiding from the American people?

You can almost smell...

On Wednesday, Toronto police said Ibrahim Mohammed Ibrahim, 23, is wanted for first-degree murder. He is considered violent. If he is seen, do not approach, call 911 immediately, police said.

The commissioners produced 10 recommendations in its report, including a call for the creation of a "commemoration fund," that would help families remember their lost loved ones.

It also endorsed the idea of providing compensation to the families of a missing or murdered women through the creation of a "healing fund."
Remember, this doesn't apply to non-aboriginal persons, or apparently even aboriginal men, who are murdered in far greater numbers than their female counterparts.

Note also that the Truth and Reconciliation Commission had five years to carry out its work... and they'll be asking for an extension.

Of course, they've blown through a $60-million budget and a five-year mandate which was later extended for an additional year.

Nice work if you can get it.

RELATED: Was this even an issue?
Crucially for a prevailing stereotype related to the issue, nearly 90 per cent of murders of aboriginal women were solved, a rate that barely differed from that of non-aboriginal women (88 versus 89 per cent).

Of the 2,500 murdered aboriginal Canadians, murdered in Canada between 1982 and 2011, fully 71 per cent — 1,750 — were male, and 745 were female.

LAST WORD: Trudeau government goes "full vajayjay"
Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland unveiled Ottawa’s action plan on women, peace and security Wednesday, saying that a “feminist foreign policy” is needed now more than ever in the face of “angry reactionary movements.”
And while we're on policy...
OTTAWA -- Immigration to Canada is set to increase over the next three years to 340,000 people a year by 2020 under the federal Liberal government's new multi-year approach to admissions planning.

The immigration plan released Wednesday will see immigration levels climb from 300,000 people a year this year to 310,000 in 2018 and 330,000 in 2019.

Why should we "just live with it?"

murder
And now eight people are dead and dozens more injured - at the hands of a guy who came here in 2010 because he won a Green Card in the so-called "diversity lottery". Why was that stupid program not suspended on September 12th 2001?
Oh yeah... one last note...
"Sayfullo" is a Central Asian rendering of "Saifallah" - or "Sword of Allah".
