Welcome back Khadr... my arse

Those who are pushing for legal action against CIA agents may talk about "upholding the law" but they are doing no such thing. Neither the Constitution of the United States nor the Geneva Convention gives rights to terrorists who operate outside the law.

There was a time when everybody understood this. German soldiers who put on American military uniforms, in order to infiltrate American lines during the Battle of the Bulge were simply lined up against a wall and shot -- and nobody wrung their hands over it.
Read it all.

Thomas Sowell kicks ass. He probably takes tons of abuse, such as being called Uncle Tom and a traitor to his race and so on, but he has enormous integrity and dignity. He says things that few people have the courage to say.

The left likes to use the phrase "talking truth to power". Most of the time it's pure conceit. Sowell is one of the few where the phrase is deserved.

it's beyond me how the left keeps confusing the terms "war" and "circle of friends".

do these fuzzy-bunny folk imagine we're gonna bring poor little omar "home"... and find him a job at the tim horton's drive thru?

Khadr killed and terrorized people in Afghanistan, that is where his trial should be held. Canadian lawyers can go there to represent him too, it's not a closed state like it was under communism.

phil... works for me... that way he'd be getting a little of that ol' islamic justice.

omar comes back to canada... what he's gonna get is a thousand taxpayer welfare bucks a month... and the adulation of his underemployed, misfit jihadi family.

Thomas Sowell is probably one of America's best minds alive today. He is a true philosopher in the classical liberal sense (not the rat liberal sense of these days). There is a reason for his numerous prizes in Economics as well as the fact that Milton Friedman chose him as a scholar.

I also like him because he came from humble roots and made something of himself through his own perserverence.

The Republicans should be begging this guy to run for President instead of the usual losers they pick.

When Khadr comes back to Canada (as he likely will) he will be a free man.

Any crimes he commits from that point on can be blamed directly on his lawyer and the judges who arranged his freedom.

"anon says... blamed directly on his lawyer and the judges who arranged his freedom"

which, of course, will be small beer indeed to the folks whose friends and family are being pulled from the rubble.

ah well... sometimes ya just gotta learn the hard way.
