I guess he can always head...
...back to Hah-vuhd...
The survey, conducted by Strategic Counsel for CTV and The Globe and Mail, puts Conservative support at 35 per cent of voters. The Liberals are at 30 per cent. The NDP are at 14, the Greens at 9 and the Bloc Québécois at 12.Hey Mikey... maybe the sheeple aren't so anxious to be herded this time around after all.
After three elections in five years, endless election speculation, Parliament Hill dramas, at least $750 million spent going to the polls and three consecutive minority governments, the bloom, it seems, is off the minority rose. But c'mon now... how bad could this really be?
"Do think there should be a federal election in 2009?"

and a poll over at cnews (post updated) confirms ignatieff's apparent folly.
funny... weren't they saying iggy was the smart one?

And the usual suspects will call this an "outlier", because its inconvenient and uncomfortable to do so otherwise.
I hope the margin gets bigger because Harper won in 2004 when he was 5 points lower in the polls before the election started.
a comment at the globe -might be a bit premature but i like it anyway -- Uncle Fester 9/7/2009 10:18:36 PM
If Ignatieff does not force an election his career is done.
If Ignatieff forces an election his carer is done. -heh
Defeat the government on any pretense they want, then off the Coup Kookateer Trio go to the GG, where they proclaim “Canadians don’t want an election. It’s our turn now”. The Toronto media immediately unleash a massive, full frontal, blitzkrieg propaganda campaign in support of the Coup. Any opposition that is shown will be ridiculed and spat on, and which will be reminiscent of the “Palin Treatment”
Now isn’t this similar to how Count Iggynoramus and his backers elevated him to where he is now. Why would they change their ways now? Especially when they have the corrupt media and other powerful confederates on there side. All of which will be financially rewarded by you and me.
And to think that this could all happen this month.
The GG would give PMSH an election, Blame Crash.
Enough time has passed,
Parliament approved the budget and a ways and means bill, and a coalition of losers to seize power would still need all 3 losers.
Iffy went public with never making a deal with the BLOC. The GG would hold him to it.
But after the election, if LibDippers seats combined (no bloc) could form a 'majority'
I have no doubt Iffy would put Dippers in cabinet to seize power.

uh guys... the point is, nobody seems to be too happy with iggy's latest royal pronouncement... even folks within his own party.
now he'll have to find a way to climb down... which spotlights the similarities with dion.
he blew it here... big time.

Polls taken on long weekends are notoriously shaky propositions. Just ask all those who showed the Liberals "closing the gap" on the Thanksgiving weekend last year.

nonnybot, yet again, shows the flag... but, but, but... notoriously shaky propositions"
sorry, warren, er... nonny... i'm thinkin' the s.s. stephane dion just hit a humungous iceberg.

Anonymous: My, your and every other Canadian opinions will not matter in the scenario I described. The Liberals and their corporate backers are desperate to regain power at any cost. Why they acting this way could have many reasons. One of them could have something to do with this. http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601082&sid=a0UkUhO_mAUw
Neo: Lot of people weren’t too happy when he was given his riding. Lot of people weren’t happy when he was installed as Liberal leader. Lot of people will not be happy if a coup is successful. My point is that us “nobodies” don’t count with the Count and his backers. If they are able to pull this off, they’ll have the media running both offense and defense for them and full unencumbered access to the Treasury to shower their “loved ones” with money.
What I’ve shown is a worst case scenario for Canada. I believe that there is a real chance that this or something similar could happen.

"blames crash says... Lot of people weren’t happy when he was installed as Liberal leader."
crash... what are you talking about? iggy's quebec capo, denis khadr... is standing right behind him.
now all he has to do is shove.
