All hail the Puffin King
Yeah, sure he does... for his successor...
-- VANCOUVER -- "Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff is urging Liberal members to change the way the party picks its leaders by adopting a one-member, one-vote selection process."Funny... even the unapologetic socialists at the "Red Star" aren't buying this one...
So, to sum up... a guy with zero political experience who hasn't lived in the country for three decades... is recruited by party bagmen who have to cross international borders to find someone untainted by recent Liberal hijinks.Said recruit & assorted henchmen then mount a backstage coup to ditch Professor Jabbersmack... who is confusing/alienating the party base... and anyone else he happens to trip over in his daily meander through the nation's capital.
After messily deposing said current leader and busundering his ol' college roomie... our hero assumes, without any opposition whatsoever... the dampish, lonely throne.
The newly crowned Puffin King, after washing the blood off his hands... then calls for, whaddayacallit... "democracy"... for the next guy to come down the pike.
Good grief.

RELATED: Same old, same old...
-- VANCOUVER -- It was vintage Chrétien on Friday night. Unfortunately, it was also vintage Dion.**********
Stéphane Dion, the outgoing leader, who was being feted for his tenure, also had Liberals on their feet - but it was as they were walking out on his speech. It was that bad.
LAST WORD: Coyne nails it...
"It’s like 1968, only without the candidates, issues, excitement or leader."*

What a hypocrite arrogant Iggy is.
Ignatieff doesn't even like this country, but he wants to rule it, it is astounding that the Criminal Liberal Party of Montreal has any support at all - how thick are their supporters?

Ignatieff doesn't even like this country,
Neither do the LPOC nor their pathetic media.
Or else, the LPOC would not have stolen our money would have stood tall and proud for our nation and safety of our country and canadians had they voted for the ANTI TERRORIST ACT BILL-BUT REFUSED. HAD TREATED OUR TROOPS WITH RESPECT AND DIGNITY- NOT DEFUND THEM. And the media would not make complete jackasses of themselves promoting and supporting a corrupt LPOC
The only party that stood up for our country flag troops and promoted our country to the world, was the prime minister and his party.
Any ideas how iggy will handle a defeat like Dion gave the liberals. Will he disappear in the dark of the night, never to be heard from again. Who will be the next so called king of the hill, Justin is still to young to take over from his dad.
Iggy was at the Trudeau convention, and so were all the head honchos of the media, Oliver, Newman, Peter and Lloyd. And they have been reliving that moment for all these years, and keep trying to bring Canada back to those days. Newman said he wanted to be there but with no race couldn't go. Was that because of a cbc cut.
It wouldn't surprise me to read their copy from back then and see how little it has changed in all these years.

well... what did iggy do when he got tired of his first wife & kids?
yeah, that's right... he bailed and got a newer, shinier model.
i think we all know what's gonna happen here.

Democracy if necessary but not necessarily democracy???
*
remember when good ol' "teflon jean" promised to cancel the gst... we all know how that one worked out.
iggy's a liberal... you don't actually have to take his pre-election promises seriously.
*
Dion who?

the icing on the cake has to be when the puffin king decides he's gonna channel "the one"...
While certainly different in delivery, Ignatieff's self-written speech echoed many of the themes that U.S. President Barack Obama used on the campaign trail.
Ignatieff spoke about hope and "change" for Canada, even borrowing Obama "Yes, we can" slogan at one point.fresh ideas, my ass.

Vintage Chretien ?
Nah . . . not a brown bag or envelope in sight and only rumours of pressure on Shawinigan Hoteliers coming from self-centered politicians.
