Those popping noises you hear...

...are hysterical, conflicted heads... exploding all over the leftosphere...

-- "Aboriginals on the west coast of Vancouver Island are planning to kill one per cent of sea otters per year for ceremonial reasons." --
Aboriginal cultural needs... or protect an endangered species... oh Gaia... hear our prayers!.

FROM THE COMMENTS:
"Yeah this is just totally different, because when the aboriginals kill animals they do it with... respect, or something. It's all very mystical and cultural and wonderful."
And...
"I wonder what those things taste like."

I'm a little uncertain why they call market hunting ceremonial/cultural reasons.

I guess clubbing them death would be a lot different, than if the Newfoundlanders did it.

After all it's a cultural thing, selling the skins for money ain't it?

no, no, no... you just don't get it.

if an aboriginal does this sort of thing... it's not a crime against the earth... it's a bright, shining celebration of their vibrant, life-embracing culture.

Yes, neo con, it's part of their reverence for the earth and all its inhabitants. They are so close to nature and spirituality. Yeah sure they are. Watch their tourist trips to see wildlife and ancient sites go down the tube.

Killing these beautiful animals for ceremonial reasons? Cultural reasons? This nauseates me. As does the Newfoundland so-called seal 'hunt.' Its horrific.
