...is hunting only inhumane when the rest of us do it?
When it was over, the Governor General wiped her bloody fingers with a tissue, saying it is difficult to believe anyone would characterize the traditional hunting practices as inhumane.Or... is hunting still a bloody, unnecessary ritual... but we're giving these folks a cultural "get out of jail free" card?
And people, let's not forget that, in our not so distant past... "French missionary au jus"... was also traditional, if infrequent aboriginal fare.
I'm guessing we're not gonna let that one slide.

I've received a couple of emails splitting hairs about using the term aboriginal here. I respond thusly...And hey, as soon as the GG comes out and enthusiastically endorses hunting for the non-aboriginal population... I'll kiss her ass too.

Personally I don't eat raw meat, fish or even vegetables, I like my red meat medium well, with a little seasoning. I think this is a hoot and can only say the GG has class. for the record, i have absolutely no problem with madam jean devouring the heart of any non-human creature she desires.
my issue is, will she now be speaking up for the hunting rights of non-aboriginal citizens of this great land... and, if not... why not?

To any liberal that has a problem with what M Jean did, I say this.
Well it was your guy that picked her because she was a looker, now you do you understand the reasons why the PM should be someone that considers all outcomes instead of just reacting to whats fashionable. More importantly I don't hear any reports about her cutting in line.
For myself, I don't have any problem with this.
The only way to top this is if she goes to Alberta to indulge in some prarie oysters.

You are being a little too subtle for me, what point are you trying to make? I think what the GG did was very courageous and symbollic and appears to be in support not only of the Inuit but the seal hunt in general. Are you saying she should more clearly suport the hunt for all or that it is bloody for all?
I don't like the definition you gave for Aboriginals since the Inuit and "First Nations" weren't originally from here and the archaeological data seems to indicate another we were here first people, who either died at naturally or through competition with the newcomers (ie your so called Aboriginals)
