U.S. President Barack Obama's budget director says his boss will sign a huge spending bill despite opposition calls for a veto.Funny though... that's not the stuff that gets the media attention.
Republican lawmakers and watchdog groups have criticized the bill because of its nearly 9,000 instances of targeted spending, known as "earmarks," totaling $7.7 billion. Democrats say the number is $3.8 billion.
Instead we get this...
"I didn't come here to do the same thing we've been doing or to take small steps forward, I came to provide the sweeping change that this country demanded when it went to the polls in November," Obama said in his weekly radio address.Gotta love it.
