I don't get the point of this post. Are you fascinated that something like this even exists or that someone would try to peddle a worn out bucking tape on Ebay? We've been using these in BC for thirty years or more. This is an older one with a bent horseshoe nail on the end to stick in the log. The newer ones have a hook on the end that comes loose easier. The nail/hook either comes out when you don't want it to or doesn't come out at all. Either way, you have to walk back down the log and deal with it. Much swearing results.
*"bdft says... Are you fascinated that something like this even exists"yes.and my apologies, friend... i guess we're not all as worldly wise as british columbians.but hey, thx for dropping in.it's always nice to get a little supercilious sneering from the folks who brought us "junkie central" and robert "willie" pickton.*
Neo, your blog has been rather mean-spirited. It's a disservice to you and your family.
*ah, well... perhaps i'm just cranky after another miserable winter.somebody pokes a stick through the bars... i tend to swing back. bear in mind, as well... i'm not providing a service for fee here. this is more like therapy... a way to get stuff off my chest.i'm pretty sure i've never claimed to be better than the next guy. i'm merely human.*
I didn't mean anything by my comment, I just didn't understand the point of your post. BTW, BC is a big place, just like Ontario, and we don't all agree with our wonderful premier. Similar to Ontario, I would imagine. Lighten up a bit.
*"bdft says... Lighten up a bit."hey... i went off over a perceived slight... and for that i'm sorry... but, like i said above, i'm human... and i can get as cranky as the next guy.and let's face it, it's not like anybody's paying for a service and getting ripped off here.anyway, the point of the post was...one... i liked that some guy took the time to invent a little gadget that solved a small problem in his own little world. two... i think it's a neat, if sorta retro lookin' gizmo... i'd put one on my hearth any day.three... i'm itchin' to get back to the woods and to fire up my stihl.i guess i'm focusing too much on all the b.s. and the hypocrisy i rub up against lately. it's past time for a little chainsaw therapy.as for you guys being around a "virtual" sourpuss... it could be worse... ask mrs n.*
Go kill a tree. You'll feel better.
