Now just a month later, there are new developments in this ongoing investigation.
-- ORILLIA, ON, March 9 /CNW/ -- At a news conference today, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) announced the identity of a young male who was murdered in 1967 and whose remains were found near Coboconk, Ontario in December 1967.As the show stated, the cops have a pretty good idea who committed these murders. He's currently in jail for other crimes.
The OPP is offering rewards of $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Richard HOVEY and Eric JONES.
The problem, especially after all this time, is finding evidence that will stand up in court.
Someone out there must know something about these murders. We'll see if the reward causes anyone to step up.
