Arizona Reconsidered
Suppose for a moment that 15 million Americans -- the population of Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, and Connecticut combined -- sneaked across the border into Quebec.(via ffof)
At the very least, you can bet that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Customs Canada would have tactical units all along the border from Massena to New Brunswick.
At worst, there would be war.

I hope that every American, regardless of where he lives, will stop and examine his conscience about this and other related incidents. This Nation was founded by men of many nations and backgrounds. It was founded on the principle that all men are created equal, and that the rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened. All of us ought to have the right to be treated as he would wish to be treated, as one would wish his children to be treated, but this is not the case.
I know the proponents of this law say that the majority approves of this law, but the majority is not always right. Would women or non-whites have the vote if we listen to the majority of the day, would the non-whites have equal rights (and equal access to churches, restaurants, hotels, retail stores, schools, colleges and yes water fountains) if we listen to the majority of the day? We all know the answer, a resounding, NO!
Today we are committed to a worldwide struggle to promote and protect the rights of all who wish to be free. In a time of domestic crisis men of good will and generosity should be able to unite regardless of party or politics and do what is right, not what is just popular with the majority. Some men comprehend discrimination by never have experiencing it in their lives, but the majority will only understand after it happens to them.

all worthy sentiments, my friend... but the larger question remains... should people who jump the queue and sneak into the country... have more rights than those who abide by the law of the land?
and, benito... that's not a rhetorical question... yes or no?

NC: I find your question silly, "more rights?", yea right! You have not lived in AZ. But mark my words, when the ecomony gets better AZ will be wanting them again, this is simple politics, plan and simple.
Benito, your list of examples are interesting, but they don't have anything to do with illegal immigration. It's not some type of human rights issue. Just about anyone is allowed to become a United States citizen, but you have to follow the rules. If you enter the U.S. illegally then they have the right to deport you back from where you came from.

"benito says... I find your question silly"
hmmm... let me try something a little simpler.
do you, benito... believe in the rule of law?
p.s. - this one is also a simple yes or no.

My grandfather became a naturalized citizen. My grandmother never did. In her wallet she carried her Green Card and her Social Security Card.
Every day I carry my TX Driver's License, my concealed carry permit, and my military ID.
I fail to see why those here legally are opposed to this law.

living in north america... especially as compared to the majority of third-wold hellholes... is a privilege.
i mean, how many people do they catch trying to sneak into liberia?
it's real simple. unlike so many other countries (and mexico is definitely on that list)... we live in a country of laws.
respect the law... or go home.

“All Men are created equal”! The founders had it right, when attempting to form a perfect union and they also knew that they were not there yet but knew we one day would get there. Lincoln moved us forward as did JFK and LBJ. This Nation was founded by men of many nations and backgrounds. It was founded on the principle that all men are created equal, and that the rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened.
It is my contention that this AZ law is not constitutional and will fail when challenged (unless they add more amendments), pretty funny for this so called perfect law.

"benito says... It is my contention that this AZ law is not constitutional"
then you have nothing to worry about, right?
