I guess somebody has to...

...win the lottery...

The lawyer for Omar Khadr told CBC News on Wednesday he's willing to do whatever it takes — including have his client live with him in Edmonton — to get Khadr out of detainment in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
I'm sure Omar would get that famous, friendly Western Canada welcome.

Mr. Shahzad’s older brother, Amir Shahzad, is a mechanical engineer based in Canada, said Kifyat Ali, a cousin of Mr. Shahzad’s father, in an interview in his office in Peshawar, where he works as a lawyer.
I imagine his life just got a little more complicated.

I don't know, Neo.

I'm visiting Edmonton right now, and I think there's actually a small group that would take him in — if only for the symbolic value "against Bushiterism": the hardcore socialist "intellectuals" who live in a compact area south of the North Saskatchewan ("Old Strathcona") — where the U of Alberta is — who have two NDP MLAs (yes, Alberta has an NDP) and got Linda Duncan, NDP, elected to Ottawa. Albertans call their capital "Redmonton" for a reason.

However, I'm not sure how Omar Khadr would react to living within "Old Strathcona's" ten-block radius of ten bars/clubs, two "independent/art-house" movie theatres, three tattoo parlors, three lingerie stores and an "empowering womyn" sex shop.

(If you want rubber-room loons, check out the Communist Party of Alberta. Yes, we have Stalinists too!)
