The Angry Reporter is back...

And that takes courage after the beatdown she took lately... so I'm willing to give her a chance.

From the latest comments at the "halls"...

I'm a woman who earns a living as a journalist, and I don't have a loyalty to anyone except my profession. And I don't like how some of it plays out, which is why I feel that an anonymous blog is the perfect safety valve to express the daily irritants of my job.

Don't look for a conspiracy, there isn't one. Read what I wrote my my blog in the last couple of days, and you'll understand where I'm going.
UPDATE: That said, we're still not buddies...
It will also give ammos to Neo-conservatives who already despise the media for not giving Israel a systematic free ride in their coverage.
Hmmm... nothing like a blatant fallacy, following on the heels of a sweeping generalisation. I guess you can take the reporter out of the CBC, but...

Sigh.

RELATED: Say Angry... got a minute?

Or does the Muslim community "get a free ride"?
In a horrible incident in Mississauga, Ontario, a journalist for a Canadian-Pakistani paper was savagely beaten by two Muslim men who demanded that he "stop writing against Islam."
I guess the jackboot is on the other foot now.

Hmmm. Female reporter for a socialist news organization who likes to troll over and show her intellectual superiority.
Is there not a car bombing in Beirut you should be covering to ensure the Conservative party gets it's proper scolding for due to it's support for Israel.
Skank.

"anon said... Skank."

you had me right up to the end... then you turned into "ti-guy".

let's remember that angry reporter, however much we think is misled... ain't hezbollah.

let's try engaging the people who are spouting this stuff... the honey vs. vinegar approach.

i'm guessing angry isn't ever gonna be a convert, but if we put out our position calmly and rationally... there may be a tipping point for some others out on the fringes.

'Loyalty' to the profession of journalism means she's too scared to buck the herd - she will always be suspicious of Conservatives, Christians, Israel etc. and she will always give socialists, terrorists, environmentalists etc. the benefit of the doubt.

Fear of their peers keeps open minded journalists in line - very few mainstream journalists, normally quite narrow minded, would last long if they reversed these hardwired views, views so ingrained many don't even recognize them as opinion.

"Fear of their peers keeps open minded journalists in line..."

had this very same email exchange with a tv journalist a while back and he admitted... "most of the msm are over-educated lefties... get used to it."

Not sure I understand why you want to drag me here, Neo Con. (in Quebec slang, btw), a "con" (silent N) is an idiot, but I disgress.

I find it interesting how you keep twisting my words around, but I expect no less fron an under-eductated right-wing nut.

If questioning how Israel acts in certain circumstances equates giving Muslims a free ride, then you show you could never take the step-back needed to cover news other than from a narrow-minded perspective.

A brief glance through CBC's media archives will prove to you that the corporation didn't exactly tone-down the coverage of suicide bombers, terrorists, and other extremists among Muslims. Unless you think all Muslims are terrorists, but we've covered that already.

As for the comment about journalists being a "bunch of over-educated lefties", I'll leave it at that. Don't know what's wrong with being over-educated. But hey, ignorance is cheap, so knock yourself out :-)

BTW, for someone who accuses me of being a troll, I did notice that none of your postings on my blogs have anything to do with the subjects I wrote about.

i guess you meant to say "under-educated", huh? sort of like the spelling error in the "rejuvenated angry blog title", i guess.

"Angry Reporter also said... If questioning how Israel acts in certain circumstances equates giving Muslims a free ride..."

nope... it was about you not questioning any unacceptable behahaviour by muslims... in this case, specifically against a canadian journalist...

my exact question was "Say Angry... got a minute?" Or does the Muslim community "get a free ride"?

"In a horrible incident in Mississauga, Ontario, a journalist for a Canadian-Pakistani paper was savagely beaten by two Muslim men who demanded that he 'stop writing against Islam.'"

"I guess the jackboot is on the other foot now."

but you chose to ignore the question. as well as the question i asked at your blog.

so really... you don't want to answer questions about journalism... in between calling me a racist, a misogynist and now an under-educated right-wing nut... you just want to pontificate about your own alleged expertise.

ah well.
