UPDATE: Fire was a torch job. Just another example of native solidarity.
A fire was set in one of the homes, allegedly by someone who was staying in the home, after they were asked to leave so that the house could be worked on. The person that was staying there said that they had been staying there from the start and that it was their home. They also said that they would set it on fire if they were forced to leave.********** So, is Dalton McGuinty going to ignore another blatant crime? Well, you know, it's only arson.
Local Mayor Marie Trainer asked the Ontario government who's paying for the hydro & water at Douglas Creek Estates.

Hi Marie:
I thought I had made it clear at a past Liaison Table meeting that the Province had taken over responsibility for water and hydro services to the DCE property. As you know, we are the rightful owner, so it is our responsibility to pay the bills as we do on all property we own. Because we are the owner, it will be up to us to decide if and when services are to be discontinued or adjusted in any way. I hope this clarifies the Provinces position on this matter. Stewart's contract sets out a maximum of $300,000 for the 11-month contract. On top of that, she can charge up to $30,000 in expenses.In case you're wondering... that's also you, the taxpayer, padding Ms. Stewart's retirement fund.
