The man was rushed to hospital after the explosion in Repentigny, just east of Montreal. Police say about 40 homes in the area have been evacuated and a bomb squad will be investigating.**********

The SQ bomb squad officers nevertheless said it had been designed to look a lot like a bomb and the squad “neutralized” it shortly before noon.
