Just a vulgar rag for the commoners, huh?

Apparently, uber-Liberal Ian Davey isn't afraid to crap all over the peasants...

Michael Ignatieff's former chief of staff went on television Sunday and took a shot at Toronto Sun readers... "It's a newspaper for people who can't read and I think that probably applies to the whole chain."
Yeah... every time I see your fearless leader I get that very same "let them eat cake" vibe.

So Ian, tell us... how are things going out in the land of Gray Poupon, anyway?
"It was right for me to support the Iraq war when I was an academic, because academics live in outer space on Planet Zinfandel, and play with ideas all day."

"But now, as a politician in a country that opposed the war, I'll admit I screwed up, because politicians must deign to harness the wild mares of whimsy to the ox-cart of cold, calculated reality."
**********

RELATED: Yes Ian, if only Sun Media...

...could be as fair and balanced as the CBC.

**********

FROM THE COMMENTS: Oh nonny, you are "special"

The compassionate, intellectual left replies...
"Scratch a Conservative and find an anti-Semite. Not to mention the fact that you're shitting on Canadian mustard seed growers."
The always cryptic but never uncertain Nonny also supplies circulation numbers for the Toronto Sun... which begs the question... "How often do you get a chance to call 180,000 people 'illiterate hillbillies' in one fell swoop?"

And that's only one paper in the Sun Media chain.

May the poli-sci gawds bless you, Ian Davey.

Davey is the son of the great Davey who ran the liberals for years. Just goes to show that a son doesn't have the same talent as the father. Think Justin and PET.
That could be the beer and popcorn stmt for the next election.
If anyone can't read it is the coalition supporters as they need the cbc/ctv to tell them what to think, along with mallice, travers and others. That comment is making almost all the blogs. And comments are not nice to Davey. Or to giggles for just giggling when he said it. Hopefully she will soon be out to pasture with the new ownership of ctv.

how do you support a paper that runs a daily shot of a chick in a bikini? are you serious? when the sports section and sex ads are bigger than the "hard" news, you know you're reading a rag. give your head a shake or are you really this stupid?

maryT said...

Would you rather the gal be in a burka.
We are so underprivileged in souther alberta. Only one daily paper available and it isn't the Sun.

From the comments that the anony's are making, I would say that they are fearful of more than just a television station.

Their fear is palpable all the way out here in "red-neck" Alberta - you know - home of those, thar "illiterates" - LOL!

It must stick in their craw that they are being slowly exposed as the arrogant, elitists they are.

Nice going libs!

179,004 - Daily Circulation of the Toronto Sun

314,173 - Daily Circulation of the Toronto Star

These are the facts Alberta Girl. Yup, we're trembling. Lol.

I'm sorry but I don't support the leftists genius.

You can't be taken seriously when you start throwing around newspapers like the sun, OR the star in a who's the smarter one bullshit.

But it seems the little clique here can only see those who disagree as leftists.

Totally, and completely, brainless.

I may hate Harper, but I hate ignatief even more.

Grey Poupon is a brand of Dijon mustard in the U.S. The brand of Dijon-style mustard was originally owned and marketed in the U.S. by the Heublein Company and now owned and manufactured by Kraft Foods. Like other Dijon mustards, Grey Poupon contains a small amount of white wine. It is made with brown mustard seed grown in Canada. The wine used is produced in upstate New York under the supervision of a rabbi, to ensure that the product maintains its kosher status. Grey Poupon became a popular mustard in the late 1970s and 1980s as American tastes broadened from the conventional American yellow mustards.

Scratch a Conservative and find an anti-Semite. Not to mention the fact that you're shitting on Canadian mustard seed growers.

Oh, it's not "gray" it's "grey". I guess this proves Davey's initial point. Sun readers are pretty stupid, not to mention anti-Semitic and anti- farmer.

oh, like in the last two elections? Oh the sabre rattling is hilarious.

Wak me up when Harper has the goods finally to make good on all these empty threats.

Face it, for the conservatives, he's a complete disappointment.

from the toronto sun comments:

"Nice one Davey. You just threw Iggy under the wheels of his tour bus. He hit every Tim Horton across Canada to prove he's a "man of the people" and in one dopey minute on Question period you left tread marks on his back....sweet"

that's what I though neo.

Silly of me to think you might take a reasonable comment with some class.

However, you would have to admit that there's a couple other nonys running around making these other "smoke your hog" type comments, so you'd rather just piss off other ones by pretending they're all one.

No wonder you read the sun neo. Then you make fun of the idiots who read the star.

It does kinda crack one up. A little. Well, you just keep pretending everyone's out to get you.

Go to the CBC website, use their search gizmo, and search for 'Judy Sgro rent ethics'.

She steals $100,000.00 from us and the CBC doesn't waste one single pixel on the story.

Now I don't quite understand that, but then I'm just a slope fore headed mouth breathing savage.

Pass the beer and popcorn, wouldja?

CBC hates bias apparently, or at least the potential of bias at SunTV.

but they continue to run the BBC news segment every day.

BBC admits it has a left wing bias.

So why is the CBC running the biased BBC?
