I wonder how many months in jail they'll get for murder as well....
I know everyone harps on how mandatory minimums don't work, but maybe it's time we say, "if you use a firearm in the commission of a violent crime, you go to jail for 10 years. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200. And no parole eligibility for 8 years."
I'm sick and bloody tired of hearing about gun crime and the only solution I hear is "ban guns". Makes me ill.
Don.. Good idea except . If you get sentenced to 10 years ,you do 10 years. lieberal supporter... As a gun owner Yes could live with both going down the tube and then refer to Dons comment with harsher meaningful sentences.

there's certainly nothing wrong with making sure the sentences fit the crime. No argument there.
As long as people aren't stupid enough to think that that, will lower gun crime.
Go ask our buddies in the states about that, where they are even still offing the murderers.
I live about 3 kms from that area in Toronto and I can take you on a tour of the murders in a few square blocks of the city and do a lot of finger pointing as we go. In fact we drove through Jane and Finch on Saturday afternoon. It is getting too close for comfort and I often hear pops, sirens, screeching tires, and yelling in this area. I can't tell now whether it is a gun shot or a firecracker going off and they are popular with the kids these days. (real conservative)
