One step forward, two steps back

"The people of the regions of this country are never going to accept being treated like criminals and we will continue our efforts until this registry is finally abolished."

RELATED: The thing is, Peace Moonbeam...

...the "magical thinking" thing is total & unadulterated bullshit.

You wanna actually save lives and not just sell newspapers, or commercial minutes... try registering alcoholics.

It's simple really the progressive left keep sniveling it only cost 4 million a year to operate the long gun registry as opposed to the nearly half a billion that it actually costs ergo Harper can call their bluff and cut their budget to 2 million and then let them run it with half their reported budget.

4 million doesn't even cover the service agreements on the hardware.

let's also bear in mind the estimated 50 percent compliance rate which turns tens of thousands of law-abiding citizens into instant criminals.

this boondoggle is a billion dollar p.r. exercise that does nothing to fight crime.

Gun Laws are a Liberal Sacred Cow. The more the better. This Registry was never intended to save lives or increase public safety. It is put in place to enable the future confiscation of firearms from private citizens. First handguns. Then semi-autos and pump gun and so on. Just like in England and Austrailia. Maybe not right away but in 10 or 20 or 30 years. What good is a Registry with missing or incomplete data. I recently requested a printout of all of the firearms registered to me. Four of the Guns I own were missing from the list. Two of them are restricted firearms. All were properly registered when I bought them. I'm not the only person that has discovered this. The Canadian Firearms Centre has no idea where they are. They have lost thousands of guns. Good value for our Billions?
