Not sure what impresses me more...

...Michael Ignatieff's impeccable sense of timing... or his plan to set himself up as Al Gore North...

"I’m not willing to do that and sacrifice the Pacific north coast, and I don’t think Albertans, when they think about it, want to do that either.”
Ah, yes... sacrificing the whole west coast of Canada... I knew that Stephen Harper was a diabolical, scheming bastard.

If only there was some special, sainted worldly figure who could bring us the wisdom of not living in the country for a decade or three.

FROM THE COMMENTS:
"So Iffy comes to Calgary, charges $40.00 per head for a free pancake breakfast, brags up his Quebec made cowboy boots, channels Hugo Chavez by referring to the smell of sulphur coming off PMSH, calls Albertans sheep and opposes a pipeline to the northern B.C. coast."

"Good fucking thing he likes us."

Iffy unscripted.

I look forward to the BC environmentalists on the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island taking Iffy on about continued oil tanker traffic in their parts....lol

the brains that God gave this guy, got permanently damaged when they put him in the same room with the sundry butt-kickers, and bloodsuckers that spin that great policy void, and have taken over the Lieberal party - how do they respond to their merge NDP queries of "so what do you stand for" ?

He served scrambled eggs, and only a small portion/plate. Nothing else.
How could a so called leader be so stupid.
How dare he assume he knows what Albertans want or will support.
These goofs on top of his goof in China makes me wonder what other goofs are in his future.
That sulfur comment will follow him like, Just visiting has. As a visitor he makes a damn poor guest.

My theory is that living outside the country for 30 years or so costs you your sense of the political and social cultures in thew various regions of the country that drive the country. In a country as diverse as Canada, 4 or 5 years spent in Toronto and Ottawa will not teach you about the political and social currents that run deep within the lives and psyches of Canadians. It takes a lifetime of living to comprehend the people and the country. Mr Ignatieff's live choices have made him unsuitable. in this lifetime, to be the leader of this country.

well, the good news is... iggy can always retreat to hah-vuhd... or his chateau in france... to lick his ghastly wounds after he gets tossed under the bus by his erstwhile successors.

Scrambled eggs?!?!? Is there no Alberta Liberal to organize things. Everyone just KNOWS that the de rigeur breakfast at the Stampede is PANCAKES. And for $40 a plate, I would expect pancakes plural, plus a decent sausage, some hash browns, and good coffee.

After all, for ten days, anyone can get a FREE breakfast. Sure, it's just a pancake with a piece of bacon or sausage stuck in the centre, to which you add syrup and pick up a cup of okay coffee, but where else in Canada can you get this deal?
