On a personal note...

...for anybody who is facing caring for an elderly parent in the near future... we just received some good news.

Mrs. Neo's 85 year-old dad has been confirmed as merely diabetic... which is great news as doctors were obviously looking for pancreatic or liver cancer in their latest series of tests.

The doctor seemed to be astonished by the fact that, despite his massive weight loss, there was no indication of kidney damage. He also told us that G-dad's blood glucose levels had gone from "terrifying" to "merely worrisome."

G-dad is responding well to the metformin and is eating more and sleeping less.

Looks like we've dodged a bullet here... this time.
