I guess he could have let...

...Emperor Gilles I... make all the decisions...

"We're now faced with a very simple choice," Harper said after that furor.

"Does the government Canadians elected appoint those senators or are they going to be appointed by a coalition that nobody elected?"
Don't miss CTV national news tonight... I mean, how often do you get to see Lloyd Robertson bleeding from his ears?

Wah wah wah the liberals made Harper do it. Harper has said for 20 years he would not appoint senators. Those mean liberals made him do it. He didn't want to but those liberals...wah wah

HARPER HAS NO SPINE. You tell me what he stands for.

BTW, larding up the senate with CON pork when parlaiment is prorogued (to avoid the non-confidence motion he would have lost) is disgusting politics.

I often herad Stephen Harper say he wants to reform the Senate. Would like to see a link to the quote showing where he said he would never appoint Senators.
Anony thinks the co-alition of weenies has PMSH by the gonads.Wrong.I like the way he reminding them that he is Prime Minister.
And the CP is sooo in tune with how the PM feels:
"Harper's timing, just before Christmas when most Canadians are preoccupied with holiday cheer rather than politics, suggests the government wasn't anxious to showcase the appointments."
Are they kidding? I'm guessing he's so pumped about this he couldn't wait!
But there I am guessing how he feels...just like the CP writer felt compelled to do.
