That's a nice majority but since the 23% would undoubtedly come from majorities in Quebec and the Martimes, the result is moot.

canadians are with the prime minister on this... if we have to have a senate, it should be elected and accountable to voters.
that being said... the pm would have to be insane to leave open the possibility of letting the "coalition of the swilling" appoint these 18 seats.
