Apparently Michael Ignatieff has never heard of condoms, birth control pills... or self-control...
He says he wants to “lay down a marker” now for the Conservatives, acknowledging that he has no firm evidence that Mr. Harper is planning to go the Bush route.So, there is actually no impending crisis here... it's just more of Iggy's left-wing bullshit... like having one of his caucus lapdogs screaming about Canadian soldiers being "war criminals."
Call me obsessive, or old-fashioned... but isn't an "option" something you consider before an act of this magnitude? Creating a human life isn't like ordering a pizza.

Abortion funding is a Provincial matter.
The 'Me, myself and I'man, needs to get up to speed on his files but perhaps because the Liberals SUCKED health care funding back from the Provinces on their previous watch, they've had a wee memory lapse on how things work....and that would walk me right into another of his pet photo-op, disease of the week moments.

Any idiot can spend a few minutes learning on wikipedia that the real issues facing third world women and children involve mundane things like clean sanitary water, innoculations, antibiotics, antiparasitic agents, and the availability of simple birth control methods such as condoms. Then there's the whole corrupt government that takes all the money and sends it to its president's swiss bank account.
Abortion clinics won't help anyone there.
Then again this is obviously yet another Warren media ploy similar to the Prorogue issue to make Harper look bad rather than to suggest real alternatives or effective policy.
Ever notice how when some Conservative suggests stricter criminal sentences they always follow the story with the mandatory "experts however agree that longer sentences do not deter crime."
Imagine if they followed Iggy's statements with "experts agree however, that the real issue facing women and children in the third world is sanitation and preventative health care".
That would be called journalism.
If abortions are publicly funded shouldn't the government also be paying for my dubes?
