Extremely Social Assistance

Ever wonder what Dalton McSlippery is actually doing with all those tax dollars he filches from you?
-- Hamilton -- Ferreira, who has four children that did not reside with him at the time, said a $1,200 baby bonus cheque arrived in the mail that day. The money went to back rent, crack and vodka.

The witness said he was using heavily at the time and consumed a couple of hundred dollars worth of crack every day, even though he was on social assistance.

To support his habit, Ferreira had an open-door policy for other users who would share their drugs in exchange for a place off the street to smoke crack.
"It's a wonderful day in the neighbourhood..."
