The inevitable price of war

A Canadian soldier has been killed and four others injured during a training accident at a range northeast of Kandahar City.

The death of Cpl. Joshua Caleb Baker brings to 140 Canadian soldiers and two civilians who have been killed in Canada’s eight-year mission in Afghanistan.
He will be remembered.

I don't think we can afford to lose
our Canadian Troops in a training exercise. If we do, it was in the line of fire. Either way, it's sad.

the reality is... soldiers are hurt or die in training accidents all the time.

things like "friendly fire" and substandard muzzle discipline are also a sad inevitability.

it's why we call it war... and not "circle of friends".
