Toronto the Good...

...five homicides in five weeks...
A 46-year-old Toronto man has been arrested and charged in the slaying of a downtown rooming house manager Wednesday. Roble Nour Adam has been charged with second-degree murder, Toronto Police announced Thursday. He was scheduled to appear in a College Park courtroom at 10 a.m.

The death left residents of the home for mentally ill and low-income adults stunned and seeking answers.

The woman, identified as Larisa Belekova by the tenants at 13 Homewood Ave., was found by police to be suffering from life-threatening stab wounds shortly after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Tenants said that Belekova was stabbed in her basement office at the Jarvis and Carlton Sts.-area home. They also said she had two children and was married.

It was the city’s fifth homicide of 2010.
