I'm thinkin' we're gonna see...
...a new world record in the Parliamentary Backpedalling Event...
After weeks of being pilloried for shuttering the Commons, Stephen Harper is trying to win back disaffected Canadians by adding extra House sittings in March and April to recoup some lost time.C'mon Iggy... more rock, less talk.
The change would effectively cancel two weeks of planned parliamentary breaks, including one in March that MPs often use for vacations.

I love it! Make them cancel their vacations to make up for that precious lost time.
I think the silence on this is going to be defeaning. I can feel the wind leaving their sails as I write this.
While there at it, cut a few weeks off the summer vacations. And didn't the opposition vote against extended hours a while ago.
Craig said that the House had been shut down all winter. Today in the comments of some paper, a guy said the Christmas break was five months.
Gee the House will be sitting for two weeks of winter, according to the groundhog.
Wonder if there will cancellations for flights, resorts, staff at a villa in France, or apts in France.
Should be interesting to see how they vote on this suggestion. After all, they want to work. And will the opposition get as much flak for shutting down the HofC for a holiday.
I can see the headline in the Red Star "Harper tries to punish Opposition for Prorogation". It will be everywhere, 24-7, accompanied by crying children holding Disney Land Tickets. Now how heartless is this Harper anyway!!!
Weeks of the biggest mainstream media campaign attempt to destroy Harper (I think the Prorogue actually got more than triple the press than when Chretien's party stole millions from the Canadian taxpayer)...
And Harper takes them all to the woodshed again.
Its like watching puppies trying to take on the old wolf.
if these jokers are on the hill two weeks a year that is two weeks too long.

Let's face it: Parliament impedes the true work of MPs, which is to get re-elected. Can't press the flesh and get envelopes passed to you if you're actually spending time, you know, working...
