Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, while saying he was reluctant to criticize those in charge of airport security, added: “Clearly the guy was on the plane and shouldn’t have been. We got lucky.”Looks like bomb-boy isn't the only one who made a few mistakes.
It remained uncertain Tuesday night at what time Mr. Shahzad had been found and when he was lost. Paul Bresson, an F.B.I. spokesman, declined to comment on the surveillance issue.

"Of course, the Feds in the States are very, VERY worried about militias and Tea Partiers. You can't watch ALL the bad guys."Too true... Apparently, there are even problems watching just one.

Next time they won't be so lucky, and the bomb will go off. Chances are because the failure to detonate the car bomb remotely by the muslim terrorist, they will start using suicide bombers in New York. I will not be surprised if they start using muslim female suicide bombers in New York, as they tend to slip under the wire.
That seems to be their expertise, except for the muslim underwear bomber who failed to detonate because he couldn't very well wear a suicide vest to get on a plane.

what's really scary is... this guy, at that particular moment, was probably the most wanted terrorist in america... and he still managed to shake his fbi tail and get on a plane out of the country.
what's the security like under "normal" circumstances?
