It's sad to see some people using this poll as a way to spin the issue.
It's the only good news poll for the Conservatives in the past couple of days yet it's not even scientific.
I'm as pro-Conservative as anyone else on Blogging Tories, but:

That being said, these polls tend to be biased towards people who live in urban areas, read CTV news online, and are generally more educated.
So it could be a good sign for urban support for Conservatives vis-a-vis environmental policy.

it's a little bit like tricky dick getting a round of applause in pravda back in the day.
maybe steffi better find himself another ballot question... if he picks law and order, he could always rename his dog serpico.

Yes, urban dwellers are often higly educated. That's why the RATs (reform/alliance/tories) won't ever get elected to a majority.
As you say, internet polls are about as scientific as christian theology.
Another thing to consider is the timing and context of the media just prior to this poll; the past two weeks have all been about the Harpercrit's green conversion.
Had you taken this poll just after the LPC's leadership convention, I'm sure you'd have seen very different results. Besides, once the educated readers of CTV realise that most of Harper's ecoEnergy Initiative were Liberal programs he'd orginally cut, they won't be fooled enough to vote for him.
As the most recent Strategic council poll has revealed, the Libs are ahead of the Cons by 4%.
Voters know that the Liberals would do absolutely nothing on environmental issues if they were in power except talk - a lot.
Canadians would rather see the Conservatives simply get things done at this point.

Perhaps aquantum liberal was higly high while being educated ?
And now the poll has mysteriously vanished. Either they have evidence that some cheating was going on or they didn't like the outcome.
We just don't know.
They won't tell us.
I'm not making this up! (has it been almost a year already?)
