Your money... his friends

The world according to Dalton Claus...

The Ontario Government will pay the former CEO of the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation almost $750,000 to end a wrongful dismissal lawsuit she launched against the province.

There may not have been coal in your stocking but there's still plenty in Ontario's power generating system.

About 6,100 megawatts of coal-fired generation continues to operate in the province, or about 20% of total generating capacity -- two years after Premier Dalton McGuinty's self-imposed shutdown deadline of 2007.

McGuinty promised to end the use of coal in Ontario by 2007 during the 2003 general election but since winning that race, the target date has been pushed back several times and is now 2014.

Ontario is 750G's closer to be "world class bankrupt"!!

Just like those trendy and with it Kookafornians. Keeping up with the Jones is so very important you know.

unfortunately, that's the way the wheel seems to be turning in canada... the sheeple beg to be led to comfy, fuzzy-bunny pasture.

I have a single question to put to all the feminist groups out there. What happened to the kinder, gentler spirit that was to prevail once women got to participate in the governance of the country on an equal footing to men? It seems the women of this nation are just as venal, duplicitous, and corrupt as the men.
And before all you rabid feminists start crying sexist, let me tell you that I am anything but. I find it unbelievably stupid that women or minorities should be excluded from partaking of the bounty of Canada. From a purely economic viewpoint, when you exclude women from any task, you are throwing away half the brainpower in the country. When you add in excluded minorities you have a situation where over half the talent is excluded from participating in the common good. How many geniuses or simply brilliant people...those who could make a difference...are cut out of the loop. It's insanity.
This does not, however, justify the hyperbole about how women in positions of power will act so much more altruistically than men. It's the over the top promotion of any sex, creed, or nationality that rankles me.

Yes. Nothing says "friend" like "lawsuit".

Do you think the government would have settled if there wasn't a risk that she'd have won the 8.4 million?

"anon1152 protests... Do you think the government would have settled if there wasn't a risk that she'd have won the 8.4 million?"

lemme see, nonny... you're talking about the same government that's responsible for the ehealth & olg scandals?

the same government that pissed away a billion dollars in hospital construction cost overruns?

it doesn't take a genius to deduce that the fiberals just wanted this latest costly boondoggle to disappear very quickly.

i think it's pretty obvious that premier mcslippery doesn't give a screamin' rats ass about fiscal responsibility... and that ontario taxpayers are gonna see that reflected on their tax bills for decades to come.
