Just something to think about...
...as you're scratching out those cheques subsidising Premier McSlippery's socialist paradise...
Ontario is doing a poor job of determining who is eligible for welfare and disability supports and paid more then $1.2 billion last year to people who should not have been eligible, says the province's auditor general.*
In a report released Monday, Jim McCarter said the government has made only minimal efforts to get that money back.

I don't know if the article you link to has been changed since you quoted it (quite possible), but it does not currently say "1.2 billion last year"--only "1.2 billion."
The 1.2 billion figure is the total amount accumulated over many years. Some of the cases that the report itself mentions go back to the 1990s.
e.g., p.229.

Adding "last year" to the figure dramatically distorts the costs and the costs accumulated during the McGuinty administration.

direct quote from cbc... i'm sure you could take it up with them.

Well, I suspected it may have been corrected afterwards. One reason why I miss old fashioned paper papers. (I know I can still get them. I just can't really afford them anymore).
Does this mitigate your antipathy toward McGuinty? (Or perhaps you dislike the CBC more....)

sorry, nonny... add this number to mcslippery's other sins... the billion dollars in hospital construction cost overruns, for example... and i'm still appalled.
