If only there was a law
A gunman who opened fire at a Toronto plainsclothes cop early today is being urged to surrender.Mayor's office, yet again, curiously silent... on which gun club the shooters belonged to.
The 33 Division officer was headed back to his unmarked cruiser at 2:36 a.m. when he was confronted by three men at an apartment complex on the southeast corner of Finch and Victoria Park Aves.
Seconds after the exchange of words, one of the three pulled out a handgun and opened fire.

Well, they've had a handgun registry since 1934. Surely, that will track down the shooter.
