I can't help but wonder what the international reaction would have been had GWB made that speech...of course, the usual suspects will remind me that GWB would never have been given the Nobel Peace Prize.

I wonder if the Nobel committee is feeling a little stupid today?
Afterall they accepted the nomination of Barry when he was barely two weeks into his presidency.
To deflect the criticism that the nomination was a tad premature the Nobel committee explained that this was an aspirational award. That is to say that this Peace prize was really about hope and change.
Of course the irony here is that Barry couldn't even see his way fit to change defense secretaries as witnessed by the continued employment of Robert Gates.
Even further we now have the spectacle of an American president presiding over a troop surge in a foreign war. That somehow sounds familiar...No?
Finally, those who opine that Barry's Nobel acceptance speech sounded sort of Bushesque...well it should....same key people same core policy.
It would seem that the hope and change that the Nobel committee cited resided in their collective psyche and in no way represented reality, other than the fact that Barack Hussien Obama is not George Walker Bush.

Actually I observed the faces of the audience during the speech and they all seemed to have drunk the Obama Koolaid. They are behind the curve and still think Obama is the One.
The more Obama grows up the more he'll sound like GW.
The problem is pushing him over the final hump that GW never seemed to make it over - grown ups know that deficits need to be tackled with a realistic plan.
