An Afghan bill allowing a husband to starve his wife if she refuses to have sex has been published in the official gazette and become law.And let's remember folks... that Karzai is actually a pretty pro-western guy as Afghanis go. Nevertheless, he is indelibly tainted by links to opium smuggling warlords and odious stuff like this legislation.
The original version obliged Shia women to have sex with their husbands every four days at a minimum, and it effectively condoned rape by removing the need for consent to sex within marriage.
Now an amended version of the same bill has passed quietly into law with the apparent approval of President Karzai.
Of course, you have to consider the alternative...
The word spread fast: anyone caught voting in the presidential election will have his finger — the one inked for the ballot — cut off.It kinda comes down to, "Who do you want drivin' the crazy bus?"
Just try imagine what this country was like before western intervention.

And this bill is a victory for women in Afghanistan. Women's rights are at least recognized as existing, Karzai made amendments to the bill and overall, it's a huge step in the right direction. It isn't the destination, but it's a start.
Real men don't have to starve women; they know how to satisfy them. This bill is for losers.

I listened to an interview with women from Afstan and that's where I got that opinion. Bizarre as it sounds, this is and IMPROVEMENT.

Sheila Copps, represents the worst of Canadian Liberal Feminist values. She will incessantly whine about the numbers of women in parliament. Notwithstanding the actual, female political representation in Ottawa. But will wholly disregard real women’s issues such as honor killings make me sick to my stomach.
Frankly the depths, that this woman will go to find some niggling exactitude to complain about boggles my mind. If she was actually in a work environment, other than sitting in Hamilton wondering how to spend daddy’s money, she would have been fired for creating a toxic work place.
The liberals deserve her.
