In other "buy the world a Coke" news

My tragedy can kick your whiny, inconsequential tragedy's ass...

-- WINNIPEG -- Some groups are already upset that the Holocaust is to get a permanent space when the museum opens in 2013, while other genocides will share a "mass atrocity" gallery.

"It's about fair and equitable treatment of these tragedies," Taras Zalusky, executive director of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, said from Ottawa.

The German-Canadian Congress is also upset with the attention given to the Holocaust.
I can't wait to tour the "Genocides the U.N. conveniently ignored" gallery.

P.S. - Does Mexico get a side exhibit?
-- MEXICO CITY -- Fifteen bodies, all but one of them decapitated, were found early Saturday in the Pacific resort city of Acapulco, local media reported.

More than 30,000 people have been killed in Mexico since late 2006 when President Felipe Calderon mobilized the army and other security services to confront drug traffickers who supply the United States.

Is it the leftists' sycophancy wrt the Jews' obsessive remembrance of "the" holocaust that has kept the largely conservative Jews voting for the liberal parties? That would be quite a cynical coup for the liberals considering that the only reason they cite that particular holocaust is that they can use it to bludgeon the right after identifying the National Socialist, centrist, elitist, social engineering party of Adoph and Co. as right wing. Yes, we should remember genocides wherever they occurred; no, we should not recognise Jews as the most significant victims of all time.

"dollops says... we should not recognise Jews as the most significant victims"

the nazis... 6 million people murdered... that seems kinda significant from a historical perspective.

this museum, though... strikes me as fetishising(?) tragedy. is that really the road we wanna travel here?

maybe all that money should be going into... i dunno... reducing the current & ongoing genocides in africa?

just a thought.

I think that the left would rather have us forget that all atrocities that I can think of in the 20th century were committed by communist, national socialist left wing tyrants. Let's see. Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, Mao Se Tung. I'm sure there are more. I can't think of any that were committed by right wing countries, all of which are/were democracies. At least in the modern sense.
