Which begs the question...

corruption again...what exactly, is Premier Turncoat afraid of?

"It is time for Mr. Charest to behave like the premier of all Quebecers rather than the leader of the Quebec Liberal Party."

Maybe he is afraid witnesses will smear people with impunity and no one at the end will be charged with anything since the enquiry would have no judicial force.

Likely he is also afraid that it will turn out like the Gomery commission which Martin still regrets calling.

exactamundo... that little p.r. exercise didn't exactly cover anyone concerned in glory.

the fact of the matter is, the quebec government has long been noted for it's cosy relationship with less than admirable, circumspect (cough, cough), uh... businessmen.

by refusing to call an enquiry, charest is reinforcing that perception... and further sullying the reputation of politicians specifically and quebeckers in general.

Remember when he threatened to take over the CPC? It still makes me laugh.
