Another Jane Taber tongue-bath...

...must be Tuesday...

“Mr. Harper cannot keep standing by while the wealthy tax cheats and the biggest corporations ... essentially take tax dollars out of the pockets of hard-working Canadians,” the NDP Leader told reporters Tuesday. “It’s not right.”
Yoo-hoo, Janie... over here...
Last year, Chow claimed $530,000 in expenses, Layton claimed $629,000.

Uhhhh Jack? Like the wealthy corporations that have no needs or wants other than good infrastructure and as a result are vastly over taxed? Like the wealthy corporations that create the jobs, even in downtown Toronto, that ensure that your constituents CAN work, even if they don't? Those wealthy corporations Jack?

In other "hose the rich" news... hey Jack!, I wanna know if the leaders of "Big Labour" pay their fare share too.

Yes, why let wealthy tax cheats and the biggest corporations take/steal our taxes when the Liberal Paret of Canada has such a great record of doing just that ?.

Neo - avoidance is legal; evasion is not. So Mr Layton is complaining about companies and individuals organizing their affairs to legally minimize their tax obligations. You and I do that when we buy an RRSP or open a TFSA.

Some years ago, I read a quote from a British judge which went to the effect of: the taxpayer has no obligation to arrange his affairs so that HM tax collector can dip his largest shovel into it. To me, that still holds. I endeavour by all legal means to minimize the family tax burden, while realizing that there are costs to living in Canada.

or, as $530,000 mp olivia chow so graciously explained...

"Chow's sensitive, caring-for-the-average-working-stiff response when asked about her above-average expenses?"

"'It's within the law,' she told the Toronto Star curtly."

you go girl.

"Layton comes from a long line of politicians. His great-granduncle, William Steeves, was a Father of Confederation.

His great-grandfather Philip Layton was a blind activist who led a campaign for disability pensions in the 1930s.

His grandfather, Gilbert Layton, was a cabinet minister in the Union Nationale government of Maurice Duplessis in Quebec, and resigned due to the provincial government's lack of support for Canadian participation in World War II.

His father, Robert Layton, was a Liberal Party activist in the 1960s and 1970s, and served as a Progressive Conservative Member of Parliament (MP) and Cabinet minister in the 1980s."

It seems Layton comes from a long line of noble public servants,or to put it another way, hogs at the public trough.

Neither jack nor Olivia have ever worked a day in their lives in non-taxpayer funded jobs.

Chow and Layton have expenses on over one million bucks a year, and they preach that they're out for the "little guy"! What complete and utter hypocrites they both are.
