What a difference...

...a year makes...

-- WASHINGTON -- The Obama administration has decided to continue to imprison without trials nearly 50 detainees at the Guantánamo Bay military prison in Cuba because a high-level task force has concluded that they are too difficult to prosecute but too dangerous to release, an administration official said on Thursday.
Ah yes... Hope, Change... and Crawford, Texas.

We should offer Hans Island for any overflow.

Too dangerous to release?
Um, yup.
Plus, who's going to take them?
No non-axis of evil or Al-Qaeda harbouring country wants to take them in gladly with open arms.

Just think, if just one of those released (alleged!)terrorists is responsible for any sort of terrorist act/deaths, B.O. would sink faster than his health care bill.

what exactly do people imagine omar khadr is gonna do if he is released back into canadian society... be the fry-guy at the local mcdonalds?

you've gotta love president mcdreamy's hypocrisy here. remember how he used to scream about gitmo when "oiljesus bush-hitler" was in charge?

um... some of the "suspected"ones already released are back into circulation as knownterrorists.

When it comes to terrorism you won't always know for sure until its too late. People have to always bare in mind that these are not petty criminals who can be reformed, and they shouldn't have the same rights as that of a common civilian while they remain suspect. Letting them go because no "hard evidence " hasn't been made public doesn't do anyone any good.

Obama is an ideological moron for following through on a political promise that didn't even make any sense.

Gitmo was a palace resort compared to the average afghan prison, yet the Liberal government of the day insisted that it would be better to transfer detainees over to an relatively unstable third world country known to have problems, than to trust the supposedly "evil" americans.

"tao_taier says... the Liberal government of the day"

the same liberal government that put our troops into af'stan in the first place... yet now screams about them committing war crimes?

yeah... those guys.
