But, of course...

...it's nothing a little "sweat lodge" won't fix.

And let's face it, you can always have more kids.

Meanwhile... let's put this other horrible menace to society in jail for 20 to life.

I'm appalled, he chose to get drunk and go walk about with his little girls and they are dead because of his actions. Ten years in prison for manslaughter should of been his sentence.

Justice denied for those two babies.

As I've said: what are the chances he'd ask for a sentencing circle if the punishment would be MORE severe than whitey's justice?

stop me if you've heard this before... "one people - one law".

i fear for my country.

"one people - one law"

And yet you subtly imply that we should go easy on someone who may have violated the rules of conduct during wartime. That's kind of funny.

Note: Just so you don't reply with a comment about how I must be okay with a guy letting his kids freeze to death, you should know that I didn't even read your links about that story, and I don't care to comment on it. I just thought I'd point out your silly double standard.

"phil says... "imply"... "may have"... and most importantly... "during wartime"

hey phil... i'm no expert, but i'm guessing shit happens when you get thrown into a life & death situation like afghanistan. that's why they call it war... and not "circle of friends".

but it's way worse than a drunk who freezes two babies to death? that's my horrific "double standard"?

seriously?

where is captain semrau's "sentencing circle"?

here's a rule i'd break if i was supreme dictator for a day... i'd execute clifford olsen and paul bernardo and their ilk.

that'd be illegal too, i guess.

but it would also be right.

Hey neo, if you could be supreme dictator for one day, would you also execute "home gro op" dealers whose houses blow up and kill innocent neighbouring children? That would be illegal too I guess, but it would also be right, unless of course you are a home grow op dope dealer...

What the hell!! Obviously the Natives involved don't value the kids all that much and don't think he should be punished or that he has been punished, so why should I care?

Bottom line is that it's none of my business. This is a racist deal where only someone from that race and even more importantly, from that band can have an opinion.

I wonder whether the rules change if he kills a non-native? Does he still get the story book dance around the campfire sentence? Really!! Does the punishment change if the victim is of a different race?

No doubt the mere mention of racism being a part of any culture other than white will trigger the usual suspects to weigh in.

But seriously, does Native "sentencing circle" justice apply only to Native on Native crime?
